Mary proudly hails from the Chicago area, and happily transplanted to Summit nine years ago. Mary has been a student of art most of her life, including minoring in Art during college, earning a BFA from the Art Institute of Chicago in Textiles, and continuing her self enrichment under the wonderful tutelage of instructor Valeri Larko at the Visual Art Center of New Jersey in Summit. Mary has had the opportunity to travel to Monhegan Island, Maine, Italy and Spain with fellow artists to find inspiration for canvases like those displayed here.
Mary’s painting reflects her love of light and color, particularly as reflected in outdoor scenes.
